Childminding Ireland delivered its first fire safety awareness training for childminders in September. This training was developed to raise awareness of potential fire hazards in the home and provide information about what can be done to minimise the risk of a fire and how to react in the event of one occurring.
The training was delivered via zoom over a two-hour period. Topics that were covered included
- Fire Safety in the home. Why? What? How?
- Best Practice, Legislation
- Human Behaviour & Fire
- Fire Safety Risk Assessment & Fire Prevention
- Smoke Alarms in the home – Where? How many?
- Escape Routes & Doors
- Fire Extinguishers & Fire Blankets
