    Local Childcare Committees.

There are 31 City and County Childcare Committees (CCCs) nationally. They are a local centre of information for all things relating to early education and childcare. They offer support services and training for childcare providers, including childminders. They also offer services to parents, such as providing information on local childcare facilities and information on parent networks.

All CCCs offer services for childminders. They provide the Childminder Development Grants when they are made available by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs. Most CCCs also support a limited version of Voluntary Notification.

Voluntary Notification was set up in 2006 to allow those childminders exempt from the Regulations to receive support from Childminder Advisory Services. However, since those services no longer receive DCYA funding, Voluntary Notification now only involves informing your local CCCs of the details of your childminding service. All but seven CCCs will take a Voluntary Notification in this manner.

You will need to contact your local CCC to find out about Voluntary Notification and Childminder Development Grants in your area.
