First Aid Response (FAR) Training
First Aid Response (FAR) is the first aid training course required by all Tusla registered childminders. It has been developed by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) to enable participants to assess and manage patients until the emergency medical services arrive. FAR includes the full Cardiac First Response Community standard.
There are 18 hours of training involved. Our certified FAR instructor will deliver the course over successive weekends.
Assessment will be skills based and a short multiple choice question exam which is designed to reinforce the knowledge and skills learnt on the course.
Cost of this course: €250. Participants registered with Tusla can claim €225 back from their local CCC which means the course costs €25.
Participants will receive a PHECC First Aid Responder certificate, which is valid for two years.
The next FAR courses will run in October 2019 and are timetabled as follows:
Sunday 6th October 9am to 5pm
Saturday 12th October 9am to 5pm
Sunday 13th October 9am to 1pm
