We are so excited that many of you will be hosting a Little Garden Gathering over the coming days. Thank you for being part of this special campaign and for helping us raise funds to make more wishes come true for children living with critical illnesses.
Don’t worry if your gathering is planned for a later date – our fundraising page will remain open until 31st July, so there’s plenty of time to get involved.
Below, you’ll find everything you need to get started.
Promotional Materials
Here you will find a selection of promotional materials to help spread the word about your event.
Feel free to share these through social media or WhatsApp groups. The social media graphics are already sized and ready to post online, while the poster version can be printed and displayed near your front door or handed to parents in person.
Each promotional piece includes a QR code that links directly to the donation page. Keep an eye on Childminding Ireland’s social media channels too – we would love for you to like, share, and repost our campaign content.

Ideas for Hosting Your Gathering
You may already have plans in place, but if you’re looking for inspiration, here are a few fun and simple ideas to help make your Little Garden Gathering extra special.
Picnic Zone
Keep things relaxed with a garden picnic. Lay out blankets, cushions, toys and snacks, and create a cosy space for families to gather. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, simply move the fun indoors.
Simple Garden Games
- Doll Dash – A relay race where children carry a favourite toy as the baton.
- Stuffed Animal Long Jump – See whose soft toy can travel the furthest.
- Toy Target Toss – Throw soft toys into buckets or hoops to earn points.
- Nature Treasure Hunt – Search for leaves, flowers, feathers, stones and other garden treasures.
- Bubble Challenge – Who can blow the biggest bubble or keep one floating the longest?
Creative Corner
Set up a face-painting station or an arts and crafts table where children can create crowns, decorate flower pots, or make thank-you cards for their parents.
Dress-Up Day
Invite children to come dressed as their favourite book, movie, superhero or fairy-tale character. You could even hold a mini parade or costume showcase.
Nature Nurturers
Encourage children and families to connect with nature by planting seeds, decorating plant pots, or learning about composting and pollinators. Take a look at our gardening blog for more ideas and inspiration.
Storytime Under the Sky
Gather children together for a favourite storybook or invite older children to read aloud to younger ones. It’s a lovely way to create a calm moment during the event.
Wish Tree
Create a simple “Wish Tree” where children can write or draw their wishes on paper leaves and hang them from a branch or small tree. It’s a beautiful way to connect with the spirit of Make-A-Wish.
Bake-A-Wish
No outdoor space? No problem! Host a cosy indoor gathering instead. Bake together, enjoy some treats, and create your own picnic atmosphere indoors.
