Note from Patricia Murray, CEO, Childminding Ireland in response to article - 'This is not a new tax, Childminding Ireland has always recommended that Childminders pay RSI contributions to the state to entitle them to state benefits and contibute to the Irish economy. The only recent change is that it will now be collected by the Revenue Commissioners as oppose to Dept of Social portection (formerly the Dept of Social Welfare) for a more efficient collection.'
