New 'Notified' Membership for Voluntarily and Statutorily Notified Childminders!

In August Childminding Ireland launched an initiative to offer the Childminding Group Insurance Scheme to Statutorily or Voluntarily Notified Childminders by inviting them to join Childminding Ireland for a reduced annual membership fee of €20.

Public Liability Insurance is a necessary part of Registered Childminder status, and Childminding Ireland recommends that you avail of the specially tailored Childminding Group Insurance Scheme available through Kidd Insurances (01) 207 9400. Alternatively public liability insurance from your home insurance provider may be acceptable for Registered Childminder membership. However, please be aware that cover may apply for a lesser number of children and only whilst the children are in the home.

Childminding Ireland will liaise directly with Kidd Insurance if you have opted for the Group Insurance Scheme, but we will require a copy of any alternative insurance policy before processing your membership.

Medical Clearance from your family doctor is also required for Registered Childminder status, therefore your GP is required to stamp and sign the Application Form.

Subscription The annual membership subscription for Childminding Ireland is €55. Please note that you can pay using a Credit card or Debit card by calling us on (01) 287 8466.

General Membership If you are thinking of becoming a Childminder or if you are studying childcare qualifications, you can become a General Member of Childminding Ireland by completing our General Member Application Form and paying a fee of €20.

Car Insurance You must inform your car insurance provider that you are operating a Childminding service or you risk invalidating your insurance cover. Childminding Ireland has negotiated a group motor insurance scheme, designed for Childminders which offers a substantial group discount.
