Patricia Murray - Chief Executive |
Childminding in the early 80s, Patricia with a small
group of Childminders realised that recognition would
only be achieved through training and professionalism,
established PEACH - the Professional Education Association
for Child Home Care - designed training to suit their
needs and attracted enough support from childminding
colleagues to evolve into the National Childminding
Association of Ireland. Small funding was achieved in
1997 after which, by proving our worth, promoting quality,
getting a group insurance scheme and introducing a registered
Childminder status, major funding enabling staff employment
and an office happened in 1999. Staff complement in
Childminding Ireland is now 10 and funding is
set to continue. Patricia is now Chief Executive. She
holds a degree in Psychology, English and linguistics
and has published 'Choosing Childcare' a guide for parents
in 1993 and 'The Childminding Handbook' in 2000.
Siolta/Childminding Ireland Appointment - Childminding

the roll out of Síolta with Childminders, and
Patricia Murray has been appointed as a Síolta

with adherence to the principles will
be given to the Childminders who are delivering the
